PRODUCT INFORMATION

The frames and forks of JITENSHA bicycles are made of an alloy called "chromoly steel", better known as "Cr-Mo 4130". Double butted means that the thickness of the tube varies: thicker at the joints to increase strength and thinner at other sections to decrease weight. The result: a good balance between lightness and durability. Cr-Mo also offers more flexibility than steel or aluminium.
All other parts are made of 6061 aluminum alloy (i.e crankset, handlebars, seat tubes...), aluminum (rims, pedals, ...), microfiber (bar tape, saddles ...).

For the best versatility between lightness and daily urban use, the Cr-Mo 4130 characteristics are ideal. Carbon and aluminum are lighter, but more fragile and stiffer.

A single speed is a classic bicycle with only one speed, 2 brakes and a freewheel. The 48x18T pedal ratio is versatile: you can go fast, restart easily after a red light, climb hills with a little harder pressure.

Compared to a fixie, the JITENSHA single-speed has a rear freewheel and 2 brakes, like most bikes. You'll be comfortable as soon as you step on it.
DELIVERY

All our shipments are made by Geodis and France Express for bicycles, Colissimo, UPS and TNT for accessories and spare parts.
All orders and shipments have a tracking number in order to follow in real time the progress of your delivery.For France, you will receive an email / sms requesting an appointment once your JITENSHA has been dispatched. You can then choose your delivery date. Appointments are made by the day. If you want a more precise delivery date / half day, choose express delivery. Contact us on service@jitensha.fr for this option.
In Switzerland, we exclusively use the services of the Swiss Post.

Delivery is free in France for purchases over €150.

International (outside EU): JITENSHAs are shipped by air with the TNT Urgent Business / Fedex service
We only ship traditional bicycles by air.
E-bikes cannot be shipped by air, due to air transport regulations on batteries.

ASSEMBLY

Your JITENSHA is assembled to order in our workshop. After testing, the handlebars, front wheel and pedals are disassembled for shipping.
You'll easily assemble it in 10 minutes. You will find assembly instructions in your package.
This operation is really simple and we will be happy to guide you on the phone if it helps you.
Tools needed (not supplied): a pair of scissors, a size 6 allen key, a size 5 allen key, a size 15 flat wrench (or an adjustable spanner).
Also, our partner, Cyclofix, which is trained on our products, can travel to your home, to the office, to completely assemble your JITENSHA and help you with the start-up of an E-JITENSHA VAE (loading the application and connection with your smartphone). This service is invoiced at €55 for traditional bicycles and €75 for VAEs (if you wish to get them started) by the Cyclofix technician.
This service is available in Paris, Bordeaux , Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Strasbourg, Nantes and Rennes. Nice, Montpellier, Toulouse will benefit from this service from September 2019.

WARRANTIES, SERVICE, MAINTENANCE

JITENSHA warrants each new bike against defects in material or workmanship for 2 years.
E-JITENSHA motor and battery have a 2-year warranty. The battery also has a 30,000km and 1000 charge cycle warranty.Your warranty will only be processed if you have valid proof of purchase.
This warranty is expressly limited to the replacement of defective parts, or a defective frame, and is the sole remedy of the warranty.
The warranty does not cover normal wear and damage caused by misuse, accidents, improper handling or assembly, as well as the maintenance or installation of accessories and parts.You can contact us by any means (see contact and company information section in the FAQs) so that we take care of you .

We have established a partnership with Cyclofix - https://www.cyclofix.com/ - in 8 French cities (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble , Strasbourg, Nantes and Rennes) and 3 to come in September 2019 (Nice, Montpellier, Toulouse) for after-sales service and maintenance of JITENSHA bikes. Cyclofix technicians are trained on our bikes and technologies.
Cyclofix travels to your doorstep, to your office. Everywhere. They are cycle technicians approved by the state, who travel by cargo bike.
Cyclofix keeps a stock of parts enabling them to very quickly resolve any potential problems.
If your JITENSHA is under warranty, we we take care of the repairs. Cyclofix invoices us directly.Cyclofix also offers, for 55€, to assemble your bike when you receive it at home, if you are not comfortable.
We assemble all JITENSHA on demand and we have all the parts composing your JITENSHA in stock. We can instantly send them to you (if you wish) or send them to the Cyclofix technician if necessary.
In Annecy and Geneva, we will welcome you every day of the week and on weekends, by appointment, to carry out all types of repairs on your JITENSHA.
In Basel, our retailer, Voyage Cycling store also welcomes you from Tuesday to Saturday, without an appointment.In all other cities, you can go to most cycle workshops, to carry out repairs or adjustments. If your JITENSHA is under warranty, we will pay for the repairs upon presentation of an invoice. Please inform us of the estimate before carrying out the repair.
Specificities of after-sales service for E-JITENSHA, electrically assisted bicycles:
All of the above applies to E-JITENSHA.Thanks to the iOS or Android application connected via Bluetooth to your E-JITENSHA, we are able to perform remote diagnostics to analyze your engine.

2 types of problem:
- Software problem: remotely, we are able to "reset" your engine to correct possible inconsistencies between the engine and the application.
- Hardware problem: for hardware repairs, our technicians in Annecy and Geneva are trained and have the parts required to replace parts of your engine if necessary. If the problem is material/mechanical, we organize at our expense (during the warranty period), the return shipment to and from our workshops in Annecy and Geneva (and packaging if necessary) for a repair. Once repaired, we will ship the repaired wheel to the desired address. We always do our best to repair your engine / rear wheel within 10 days.
In the "Cyclofix cities" (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Strasbourg, Nantes and Rennes (and 3 to come in September 2019 : Nice, Montpellier, Toulouse), Cyclofix technicians will be authorized from October 1, 2019 to repair the motors.
If your motor is under warranty and a more substantial repair (or a complete replacement of the wheel) is necessary we cover 100% of the transport and repair costs.We have an agreement with 100 Mail Boxes Etc centers in France, and we will send you a label to return the complete wheel to us (which is disassembled with a flat wrench from 17, in 5 minutes and without any technical skills.) If you don't want to wrap the wheel yourself, and you are close to an MBE centre, they will do it for you.What is the battery life? And can it be replaced? The life of a battery is 3 to 5 years. We can replace the battery in our workshop. If out of warranty, the cost of a new battery is €450, (including labor). The battery cannot be replaced directly by our users. -
JITENSHA requires minimal maintenance. Other than pumping up your tires and greasing your chain if necessary, you won't have to worry much about maintenance. For its longevity, we recommend that you park your JITENSHA in a dry place as much as possible. Give it some shine with a soft cloth as often as you like.
If there is a problem with your JITENSHA, we can deliver all the parts to you very quickly.
The quality of the parts, the reliability of our offer and the simplicity of JITENSHA significantly limit the risks. JITENSHA, these are quality parts and their specifications are "standard" which means that you can replace most parts at any cycle repair shop or yourself if you prefer.We are happy to supply all original spare parts to our customers. Contact us so that we can give you the price list of spare parts.
In the cities where Cyclofix operates (Paris, Bordeaux, Lyon, Lille, Grenoble, Strasbourg, Nantes and Rennes - from September 2019, Nice, Montpellier, Toulouse), you can also call on the Cyclofix technicians who will come to your home or office to maintain or repair your bike.

We have a partnership with a transport company, which has branches all over Europe (about 100 in France), which allows us to efficiently manage all flow of parts when needed.
RETURNS AND RIGHT OF WITHDRAWAL

The customer has fourteen days from receipt of the product to exercise his right of withdrawal without having to justify reasons or pay penalties, with the exception, where applicable, of return costs.
The right of withdrawal can be exercised with JITENSHA according to the terms defined below. If the right of withdrawal is exercised within the aforementioned period, only the price of the product(s) ( s) purchased will be refunded, the return costs will be borne by the customer.
After communication of the customer's decision to exercise his right of withdrawal within 14 days, the customer of a new period 14 days to return the product(s) affected by the withdrawal. Returns of products must be made in their original state, new and complete (packaging, accessories, instructions, etc.) so that they can be re-marketed in a new state; They must be accompanied by a copy of the purchase receipt. If the product received does not correspond to the order placed, the customer may, within the withdrawal period, return the product.
The seller shall reimburse the buyer or exchange the products that are defective or do not correspond to the order made. Contact us at service@jitensha.fr to exercise your right of withdrawal.In the event of depreciation of the product resulting from manipulations other than those necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and proper functioning of the product, the the customer may be held liable.
Terms and conditions for exercising the right of withdrawal
To exercise the right of withdrawal, in accordance with legal provisions, the customer can use the standard withdrawal form which appears in the appendix to these T&Cs. It should be sent by email to service@jitensha.fr or by post to the following address: JITENSHA 9 rue des Terrasses, 74960 Annecy, expressing the will to withdraw without ambiguity, and mentioning the order concerned by this withdrawal.
Once the withdrawal form has been sent to JITENSHA at the latest within 14 days of receipt of your order, you must return the product(s) concerned to JITENSHA, at the latest, within 14 days from sending the withdrawal form to JITENSHA.
The customer is free to choose the method of sending his product and whether or not to take out insurance in the event of loss, theft or destruction of his package. JITENSHA does not bear any of these costs or the cost of transport and cannot be held responsible for the non-receipt of the customer's package. JITENSHA advises the customer to opt for a tracking shipment of the package. In general, all costs and risks associated with returning the product are the responsibility of the customer.
For products that cannot be returned to us by post due to their nature and /or their size, an estimate of the return costs with a carrier, perhaps estimated between 100 and 150€ for France (mainland).
On request JITENSHA can organize this transport subject to invoicing of the amount above.
This estimate of return costs does not bind JITENSHA. The price to be paid for returning your product may vary depending on the carrier you have chosen to return your product.

In the event of exercise of the right of withdrawal, JITENSHA will reimburse the sums paid (including delivery costs) within 14 days from the date on which JITENSHA collects the product or the customer has provided proof of the shipment of the product, the date retained being that of the first of these events. JITENSHA makes the refund using the same means of payment as the one used for the order. JITENSHA is not required to reimburse additional costs if the customer has chosen a more expensive delivery method than the standard delivery method offered by JITENSHA.
Products returned in non-compliant condition will not be refunded by JITENSHA.
